I am very pleased with how this turned out! What a unique and striking pen. It's a little more complex than other pens I've made, but I enjoyed the challenge. I'm not sure about the wood (timber?) I used, but it could be Thailand rosewood.

Actually I quite like that kit. Can't say I have ever seen one in the flesh so to speak. You have made a nice job of it.

Smart pen, is it all one piece? :thinks:

Not exactly sure what you mean. It uses two blanks, one for the pen body, and a very small one for the plunger.

Take a guess
Looks good to me Jim

Not a kit I've used before, I'd be interested in knowing how well it stands up to usage :nooidea:

Jim when I read Apex first thought was that huge great organisation for young people relaxed and read the full title your previous ones you showed less of the kit more of the body thank you for the detailed construction mate. What is the click function like is it positive etc there is an enormous market for Doctors Nurses and so many busy people who would welcome a one piece good clicker.

Love the blank and I think it could have any looks it chooses and sell sell sell for its usefulness. The timber and finish you gave it are classy. Great post mate.

Peter.

Wow, glowing praise indeed! The click mechanism in the Apex is the three piece PSI. A lot of the guys on the forum here in the States speak disparagingly of it. I personally haven't had any problems with it, but my pens don't get a lot of use. The same guys speak very highly of the Vertex and Stratus click pen mechanisms, which are one piece. I've also made these pens, and the click mechanisms seem smoother and quieter.

I will also say, it's not very comfortable to write with. My fingers naturally grab it in the cove just behind the "bulge". That puts the writing tip a little farther away from my fingers than I like. But it is a nice showcase pen.
