A good friend of mine asked if I would make a pen and pencil set as a Birthday gift for his wife.

The wood (oak) has definitely come from the HMS Victory and came with relevant paperwork as proof.

There is some wood left over and It's been given to me for my own use. Well pleased with that!

Here's the duo in Sierra with CA finish. (the photo seems to show sanding marks but I can't see any at all in real life! Must go to specksavers I guess LOL

Pens of purpose fast use of very old memorial timber that will continue the traditions of the great fleet. Neat Pens Kevin so often old timber can be bland these are great.

Start with the mast Paul. You won't have to turn the edges off :funny::funny::funny: great provenance - I saw they were doing loads to it when I was there last but didn't realise you could get bits of it. Looks like you got more of it than the Spanish ever did

Antiques Roadshow at a Naval Base recently (for us) people were showing provenance and articles relating to the crew and Captain of this ship quite a demand for it as well.

Thanks all
I've passed the pens to my friend and he was delighted with them (hope his wife is as well)
The cheapest slimline pens, from The National Museum, is £175!
Me thinks an order for a few TM Omega fountain pen kits will soon be placed.

Regards
Kevin

You don't have to Paul. It's out of a store just opposite to Captain Fleet Maintenance offices if memory serves me right. It was purchased for repairs in the sixties and never used, and sod off as victory oak! Sorry to put a dampener on it but the older stuff, and there is a small amount around is much darker
