explanation for a thicko lads. Whats Styrene :nooidea: I know by the photos that its a thin strip and that's about it. :thinks::thinks:

Styrene is a plastic derivative and is a pre-cursor to polystyrene ,
I use it for laminating,
it is sold in Model making shops in sheets.
wiki has the full breakdown of it and its components

Great work on laminating, turning and finishing.
How durable a finish is Friction Polish with a topcoat of wax?

Les

It is durable if you look after it
a plastic over coat will last a long time without doing anything.
A barbour Wax jacket will last forever if looked after and regularly waxed
Like comparing a Skoda with a Morgan
Both have their uses and Plus points
I just prefer to feel the Wood rather than a plastic feel
If i wanted plastic i would have made an acrylic pen.
All down to personal choice and perceptions.
