I know these aren't to everyones taste, but this is another made for a friend. I seem to have quite a few friends who like gothic stuff!

Finished with microcrystaline wax and then HUT PPP. The request for the finish was for 'a bit of a sheen, but not too glossy a shine'. I quite like the natural look on this alongside the pewter metalwork.

Nicely made pen David. I would have put the Hut polish on first then the micro wax as the micro crystalline is harder wearing & prevents fingerprints. It is made specially for things which are handled a lot.

Thanks, Bill, useful to know. I'd been told by someone else to use the micro wax first as it helped seal the wood better than Hut as it soaked in more??? That's why I'd used that combination. I'll try the next pen the other way round then if microcrystalline is harder wearing than HUT PPP.

Seal your pen with sanding sealer & denib before applying wax.

This kit is growing on me. Your pen is very nice. Would it have been better to use CA finish and knock the shine back with wire wool? Wax isn't very durable.

It looks good to me David, these kits are very well made .. Agree not to everyone's taste, mainly because of the looks, but held in the hand you see what an image doesn't show ..

David I was musing recently the pen you just made really kicks the notion of variety and opportunities that abound in kits these days so well made mate.

Peter.
