This pen was an idea I had for ages I requested a mate from over 60 yrs ago who has an Opal Mine in Lightning Ridge to cut me and create a triplet of this green Opal from his mine, with due reverence I gave him the top without the ornament in it to him and I paid him the going rate.

The Timber is Golden Amboyna and true to the stuff it went red when turned and polished.

In 1985 in India I bought three hands full of precious stones including Rubies,Saphires, Star Rubies etc Moonstone sets, Diamond Earrings others, Emerald all because a mongrel Specialist gave me three months to live with Cancer. Well we have a son five daughters and Wilma so I thought I nwont pass this way again and the price was real attractive. When I made the pen I resurrected some precious stones left over from my return and arranged them around the pen.

So it went into my collection (we all have those). At my Medical Centre a few days ago at the reception desk one lady said Peter I was in Brisbane last week with my son who will graduate soon with a top Degree so I offered to buy him a pen they started at this place about a thousand dollars. She said would I make one for her well I am not a short order Cook but I said I would.

Yesterday I sold this pen to her as a friend for a hundred dollars Deal done I had put it in a neat black box in a few seconds she had it out trying to pull it apart to see inside far too quick fror me anyway they are substantial pens no harm done then she unscrewed the pen holding it apart the biro exposed in a fraction of time so I took a deep breath and said when the time comes this is what you do to replace the biro.

The whole practice was exposed to this the three staff ie a room full of patients anyway deal done friendship cemented really happy woman.

Of course you have seen this pen before just sharing the experience. No the stones are home.

Peter.

I have seen the pen before Peter yes, I still love it and would love to be that person that brought it off you. It is one superb and stunning pen.

I believe that this pen is a marker and standard to achieve in mix of pen kit and pen blank. This is what I was on about when I commented on Johhnys recent sceptre pen.

It truly is a remarkable pen and shows your skills and abilities of matching pen kit, blank and the extras of the coloured opal.

To me is something to thrive for.

Thanks for sharing it again and sharing your experience.

Lot being said around here about depression have not got time to catch that as well every day is a goodn. My main specialist is also a great guy. Real league of nations, Egypt, Bangla Desh, India, Owner of the Medical centre we have all seasons ticket in is Jordanian Christian our now every time a Bangladeshi who spent some years in New Zealand so we swap talk of footy and cricket freely.

All of these guys pulled us through Wilmas miraculous recovery from the two worst cancers major major op four years ago she is marvellous my back up person and constant strength.
