First turning on the new little lathe.
Found an offcut of Pissards purple plum, with a bl##dy great hole in it!
Filled with leak fix, with a bit of dust added to try and break up the obvious solid fill.

Finish on this one is Melamine lacquer. I was messing about with the speeds and polishing pressure to see what the lathe could do.
Not really a gloss finish, but I think it suits the pen.

Well chuffed with it Peter.
The tailstock on my little SIP can kiss on both cheeks:funny:, this one is spot on.

Everything that's supposed to move, ( tailstock / banjo, rests) moves smoothly and locks down tight with very little pressure.
The tool rests have been properly milled, so no lumps or bumps to file out! Very solid on its adjustable non slip feet, and incredibly vibration free, even at high speed.

Love it!:love_it:
