Clement you stirred up those blanks and gave them Royal treatment from start to finish. Melamine finish handled this way is impressive.Goldfield is a term used to cover a multitude of Eucs that come from the south and south centre of Western Australia, covers many varieties, the beautiful grain suits the pen, shown truly by the finish.

Thanks for the comments ! When i've seen the wood it was presented as eucalyptus root, i search the web and found it was described as Goldfield burr and seems to be the same family as mallee, do'nt know it is true but that's what i found on the web :thinks:

The following is a list of some of the tree burls that are described loosely as Goldfield Burl.

Mulga, York Gum,WAndoo, Western Myall, Salmon Gum, Rock Oak, Red Morrell, Marri, Mallee Root, Jarrah, Flooded Gum. Aussie slang such as flat out like a lizard drinking, an easy humorous way out or just happens and sticks therefore with heaps of other timbers Goldfield Burl has been called.Botanical names are bypassed so often with local names.
