A chrome/gunmetal Scirocco in a Messmate burr blank Id sent off to Scott (Sawes) to get his stabilising treatment some time ago along with others, good to finally get round to using them. I also did a few others, either chrome/gunmetal or black kits, 2 in hybrid Malle Burrs, an Lava Lamp acrylic and a Myrtle burr

Several reasons to appreciate pens. I am continually surprised at anyone stabilising Burls, some are so open and uncertain but the majority a dream to process. Later on today i hope to overtake several Burls in my workshop and I will take some pics to demonstrate.

Thank you for sharing these Freck.

Peter.

Thanks Peter, the only ones stabilised were the messmate and myrtle blanks, the reason being that I had issues with unstabilised ones from the same batch/supplier moving on me and being very porous (if thats the right word), lots of voids etc etc, the stabilising worked a treat and no issues while turning.
