This timber has been listed on the Cities restricted list like many timbers treated this way these days.It turns, belieing its reputation as the heaviest and hardest of timbers. My first pen of Lignum was a scrap from a Ships bearing supporting the drive shaft after forty years.

Like all dark woods I let light into the pic so I can see the pen nuances.I always feel inadequate with dark wood showing it and I notice I am not alone.

It's always good to see a nice dark wood in its full glory....perhaps we should invite a challenge turn??
I saw a lovely big oak pen that had coloured wax applied then sealed.....it was stunning:drool:
