Am I allowed to take a slightly different view Alan? Cracking work of course, and only my own subjective opinion, but I think I'd have saved the celtic knot for a plainer piece of wood and allowed the spalted piece to sing on its own.

Will this mean you won't love me any more?:sob:

I have the same opinion as Phil but hesitated to say Alan. That's a stunning piece of spalt and it's hard sometimes to see how it's going to turn out when still a square blank
I'd echo though that it's beautifully made and finished and whatever our opinion whoever ends up with that is a very lucky owner.

Thanks guys for ALL the comments. I don't expect or need every response to be a thumbs up and I value every comment. We are all here to learn. I thought it would be interesting to put a knot into the spalting the same colour so it would integrate into the randomness of the fungal bootlaces, and also to see what others thought.
As Bob says you never know what you end up with until it has been turned, so I just regard it as a novelty.
Keep the comments coming.
Alan ( and don't worry Phil I still love you regardless of what others think )
