Lively pen Alan, good choices and result. Finished blanks of blackwood give off a sheen, chatoyance in one direction like shot silk ties. When drilling it fights back, cut carefully its beaut,in a hurry burns and the timber stains the hands. I have many sticks of this timber if it would help I can bash off a quick pick or more that may help future identification. Also now waiting some from Tasmania from two of the best sources (friends I pay for blanks), Best sources both are connisuers? of fine timbers.

Kind regards mate. Peter.

Some pics of a few Aussie Blackwood from two sources last year could be from Victoria or Tasmania. The variations and grain make it interesting to me.

Kind regards Peter. PS Same family as KOA from Hawaii.
