    first pen turned

This was my first attempt at making a pen. Made with Zebrano wood to a slimline pen-kit.
Struggling with the finishing process at the moment, as this was sanded to 600 grit, then a coat of friction polish and microchrystalline stick to finish.
    Regards.
    John

It’s a good first effort but you’ve overturned your blank which has made t too small for your fittings. We’ve all been there & done this. Take care when you turn your blank down to the bushes. Leave your blank slightly proud of your bushes, this allows for sanding. Happy turning.

A good first attempt John. Thanks for sharing it. Bill has given some good advice in regard to how much you need to turn down the wood before sanding.

I remember that my first pen suffered from the same problem But this forum didn't exist back then, so NOBODY saw it
