In a barter / exchange with an old friend, I've made her this streamline pen in Hawthorn.

It was a dream to turn, and is gorgeously figured.

If you are into "meanings" then my yoga teacher, who I made a Hawthorn pen for at Christmas, will tell you it is very a spiritual, female wood which gives protection and may be the embodiment of a witch. And that not everyone is able to handle it (what does that mean about me?! ?*♀️)

Hmmm... I cut out quite a lot of thick hawthorn hedging a little while ago, does that mean I'm now cursed. :sob: I did keep some of the more figured stuff and it does turn well.

Nicely turned pen btw your friend must be pleased, hope you got something nice in exchange.
