Hi all, just completing a couple of requests....
Firstly a pair of Yew Omega fountains, I did a few for this customer who unfortunately lost his bag..... Luckily he came back to me:ciggrin:
The second is a Horse chestnut Sirocco, for a teachers gift. IMG_20201126_182705.jpgIMG_20201126_183117_963.jpg

Very nice, Mark. I especially like your yew. Your finish brings out a richness in the timber and makes them look more 'natural'.
Is that melamine laquer?

Hi Alan, the top coats are melamine, but I have taken to wipe the blanks with Peacock oil first.... Its a handsaw handle finish and seems to be a mixture of oil, shellac, stain and a few other things..... They recommended soaking the handle to achieve the finish, but I wipe on leave 20 mins and burnish..... I haven't tried it as a solo finish but should really try it I suppose :thinks::thinks:
