Rhodium with black ti accents dressed in rosewood

Yes i know the mirror finish is not everyone’s cup of tea! As i have said before, its very much like marmite, you either love it or you hate it.

This beautiful piece of timber came my way a while ago from a friend in the Scottish highlands. When it arrived we thought that it might be ebony. Black and quite dense in appearance but after working it on the lathe the beautiful rosewood colours began to show. The smell and the violet-brown and rich purple black colour that appeared was a definite giveaway for me.
I selected the rhodium kit to compliment the natural dark variation of colours deep within the grain but I’m afraid the photo doesn’t do it justice. It’s impossible to see through that marmite finish using a camera!

The shine comes from years of building luxury yachts, working with resins and spraying cars for a living!

If you want me to run through the process with you just pm me. In the end it really is practise makes perfect and learn by your mistakes. There are lots of YouTube videos out there and everyone has their own way of finishing.
