The tree grows only in Tasmania in very wet country grows mm,s per yr this blanks came from an old tree. Played with the design, had fun dusted off my New Guinea shell to be different.

The first item near to a pen was a perfume dispenser shaped like a pen real fun for me to use Huon any time it varies from light in colour to rich golden tones.

That is a lovely pen Peter and even more so for the provenance. Huon looks very similar to Yew.

As does the Specialist rooms next to a hospital near me all the doors surrounds in the lift over two floors my little flash on camera couple of pics to show how Maple Burl veneer also looks like Huon Pine.

Its a building for specialists adjacent to a hospital I am in awe with viewing the veneering every oversize door on two floors are done this way as well.Luxury finish indeed mate. By the way I have your pen to take pics of later with the gold nugget set into the top.:fingers::fingers:
