An Holly Oak with brass dropped onto the ca finish. But can you tell what the twist is?

Looks like a very well made and finished pen to me
Can't see anything unusual.
So I'll guess that it isn't really a pen. Is it the worlds smallest nuclear submarine? :funny::funny::funny:

Great idea to dust the CA with brass powder - how do you ensure even coverage? I'm thinking using a sieve or something like that? Not sure what the twist is but you really are a tease, you naughty naughty man you!

Is it something to do with the centre band,it looks a lot smaller than usual or the nib and clip look bigger.

Whatever the twist it looks great and the finish looks spot on.

Right then...

David, I just dropped the powder on the pen just after the ca had been applied and it was still spinning and did it over several coats.
Terry, No its not x cut.
Frankie, Spot on, its a screw fitting.

Certainly makes stripping a pen down easier when you aren't happy with something!

Another benefit is you can change the kit colour if you want. The mechanism is also screw in so that can be changed easily too.

Nice pen..

Did you find the glue a bit of a pain to get ou of the threads on the end of the tube..?

What method of squaring the blank did you use ?
(Was wondering if the end mill would wear or catch the thread?)

how far in does the thread go in to the tube?
Questions, questions and more questions.. :whistling:

Kit looks a reasonable quality as well..

Paul did you use a dog standard barrel trimmer and how did you glue the tube in
did you have to blank the ends off with spud im just thinking of the fine threads being clogged or damaged nice well done.

I glued the tubes in with ca in the normal way I would. I just push the end into the blank about 1/8th inch then put the ca on the tube and push it in and out, twisting it to ensure the glue spreads over it and then just right in.

I used s conventional barrel trimmer but was very careful not to take too much off the end but apart from that it was the same as a normal slimline. I did have concerns over using ca as a finish because I use a lot and the bushes go inside the barrel but didn't need to worry as they came out fine.
