Hey love the blank - good match to the gun metal plating. Finish looks good - what did you use? The shape of the pen is very much to the eye of the beholder. To me, the shape looks awkward. But if it rocks your boat then it rocks your boat. What's the kit - it looks like an Omega (UK) but the cap doesn't post. For your third pen- brilliant.

Chriscb.

Chriscb So the finish is just Axminster Acrylic Polish. Yeah the shape is deliberate I have quite big hands and this just sits comfortably. The first two were slimmer. This kit was from CS Crafts.

Thanks I'm still getting to grips and there a few small blemishes still that I know are there so more practice needed!!!

There is so much more than just the turning and it looks like you're going in the right direction..... What shape suits what kit/ blank..... What plateing goes with what blank.... It all needs thought, along with the skill to turn....
Very nice job.... I saw the blemishes and I have had those myself especially with those blanks.... I cured mine with less aggressive sanding and not allowing any heat build up... I also try to use very sharp drill bits and clear the swarf frequently otherwise I get elliptical holes:whistling::whistling:

A nice job considering it’s just no. 3. You know it could be better & no doubt your next one will be. Well done.
