A bit of fun this one. I wanted to make a summer pen and, as today is our annual day of sunshine here in Wales, I thought it was a good time to make it.

The green skin is made from acrylic and I cast the red fleshy part myself. I’m pleased at how well it came out. I does resemble the texture you’d see in a watermelon.

It has a Jowo no6 nib.

Cap threads are 13x0.8 triple lead. The barrel steps up to 15.3mm, and overall length is around 143mm.

I polished the whole pen to a high gloss but decided to cut back the red down to a more satin finish. I’m not sure it was worth the extra effort but I think it looks a bit more realistic.

Cheers
Ash

Really nice Jade look to that section. I’ve tried creating and sourcing an acrylic jade blank. That the best I’ve seen.

Lovely pen as always Ash.

Thanks Tony.

For reference the pale green is kirinite key lime pearl.
