Hi Mandy - welcome to the forum. I hope others are giving you money for Christmas as well - you're going to need a wee bit of that once you've unwrapped your lathe.

Please do show us some piccies after Christmas. We're all pretty excited for you now, and I'm sure we'd all love to see your new lathe.

Hi Mandy from S of France, as Phil says I hope you've got a lot of money, for the tooling, the vacuuming, the dust collection, the wood the......: Mind you the satisfaction of making something that someone else likes and wants far outweighs the poverty.:thumbs::thumbs:

Welcome Mandy.
Just a suggestion, have a look around your area for a wood turning club.
They’ve been there done that and would usually offer a lot of help.
There is also the social side with a bit of banter.
Have fun.

Dave
