Made my first wooden mushrooms today.

The first one I got the proportions wrong, but it looks OK. I think the wood is Laburnum, as it had LB written on it

The second one is an improvement, but could still be better. Made from Yew

Looking good Chas. when I turn mine I mount the branch wood slightly of centre so when I turn my mushroom I leave a bit of bark & sapwood on one die of the cap & heartwood on the other side. I also try to leave a rim of bark round the foot as an added feature. I also tend to taper my stalk it looks more pleasing on the eye. Hope this helps, all things to experiment with.

Shape size and significance with mushrooms right up with Woody who makes exciting mushrooms I know he is in the middle of moving but he might come in on this one.
