Thanks to Neil and Gary for taking my stock of pen kits - I found a couple of extras and couldn’t resist making them up as a swan song ? First one is an alpha with bog oak and elm and the other is a mistral with self cast of paua shell and black resin. I made about 20 of the Paua shell blanks...

This cartridge is 31/2 inches long designed for maximum collateral. The ink mech is screwed into a receiving thread in the shell. Quite light it writes easily and pleasant to hold. Peter.:thumbs:

Just finished a special pen for my daughters Christmas present She's a scuba diver and mad about sharks. So this has Shark vertebrae and Sharks teeth, plus a couple of shells. I think she'll be pleased with it ... well she better. Cheers Brad

back in 2013 I bought a Jet AFS-500 Air Filtration System from Axminster and in 2015 I had to get a replacement circuit board under the guarantee, the board has just gone again. Before I shell out 60£ for another replacement board has anyone had the same problem and if so did you find a cheaper...

Evening everyone, I am interested in using some of the alternative tortoise shell blanks to make myself a nise fountain pen. The material looks to me to be quite translucent what would be the best colours to reverse paint ? Any body got some pics of what they have turned with this material...

I was turning a piece of Beech and it seemed to want to be a shell so this is how it turned out. I put a glass tube in the top so it could used as a bud vase, I also cut it in half and hollowed out a shallow hole about 2 1/2 inches only (as I wanted the base to heaver so it would be more stable)...
