Well it had to happen didn't it,
I haven't used the lathe for a fortnight and it's got the right hump....
It seemed to be over running / taking longer to slow to a stop than normal, I put it under load to drill a blank and it refused to start when I turned it back on.... Pic enclosed:funny:IMG_20220316_121306.jpg
So a quick call to Axi, yes we do new belts around £7.50 great. I have to admit that this is the first fault I have had with this lathe in probably the 10+ years I have had it, and all credit to Axi when I told him that he didn't try a hard sell but said if its coming to bits it might be wise to do the bearings at the same time and they also do an upgraded spindle if I wanted it too. Silly not to take the offer and he also emailed me instruction on how too( good job as I'd never of worked out the left hand thread:rant:)
Just now waiting on my little brown box!!

Unlucky, but lucky - I don’t know what the mtbf is for belts but 10 yrs seems pretty good to me!

As for Axi I never have a bad word to say, I know some complain, and there are comments about pricing, but I have a store less than. 30mins away and they are always brilliant, and when I’ve had to ring customer service it is always exactly that, 1st class customer service!

The best had to be when I called them about an ebay offer.... They had 10 table Saws at 10% of the RRP an obvious typo, so I called to let them know.... "Thanks, if you want one we will do 10% off to say thank you"..... If I'd had wanted one I'd have bought it at 90% off.... Pillocks!!

I am literally waiting for this to happen every time I use my lathe but she keeps plugging on. Though if I keep to my habit of accidentally starting it with the index pin located then it wont be long before something gives!

THANKS FOR THE KISS OF DEATH Mark [MENTION=626]flexi[/MENTION]

Only had my AC305WL since 10th November, Today the winding wheel on the tailstock fell off. I put it back together again and it no longer grips the chuck arbour actually it does sometimes but not most. I can not get the wheel to stay flush with the tailstock, the problem I get with this is lateral movement of anything I put in (drill chuck).
Axminster are sending me out a new barrel and some screws.

Good service from Axi though.
