    Shaving Kits

Hi all. I have been asked to make a shaving set for a wedding present and have been trying to research the best quality kit. I do not want to incur the cost of shipping from USA so am looking for a UK supplier. Most web sites I have looked at do not give any details of kits that would enable a sound judgement to be made. Having purchased from Turners Retreat before and being very pleased with their pen kits I aked a simple question - "where are your shaving kits made?" I got the very surprising answer, "I am afraid we do not disclose supplier information". Would you buy a nice shiny car without knowing who made it? Obviously I am quite annoyed but I am still looking for a shaving kit (razor, brush, stand) and would be very grateful if any of you can recommend a good quality kit or supplier. Many thanks.

I have made a few and bought from Turners Workshop, Vince is very good and used to source some very good knots from China and they are on par with some very expensive shaving suppliers..... I recently looked for a couple more and he seems to have stopped doing the premium grade iirc 18-20 per knot... 20130901_093718 (1).jpg
You could try Davee at Penkitz and bits, I know he does the 3 piece set with a reasonable knot as does Turners Retreat or just buy a set and source your own knot of the bay of E but it will come from China.
Now come on @Phil Dart isn't this a gap in the market

Mark, we are all so used to seeing sideways photographs that they are now the norm.

    Cheers Frederick,
This is Tigerwood, which is resin impregnated so it's less prone to splintering but the resin does mean you need sharp tools.... It also holds up well to being immersed in water
