    Is there such a thing

Is there a TAILSTOCK LEVER instead of a Tailstock Wheel on the market.

You would have to make and adapt one for your lathe. As far as I know there are no modern wood lathes with the. Maybe an old one. There are times where it would be nice to have.

I drill my blanks on the lathe and as age catches up with me I am finding it harder and harder turning the wheel.

None off us are getting younger
Have you thought about turning/ making a bigger wheel you could include spokes to assist you with turning(ie boat captain wheel) you would be surprised how it only needs a small increase to be easier to turn....... Just a thought

Interesting idea. I could see a lever if it had ratchet capabilities otherwise travel would be limited.
I went to the local Kleptomaniacs Anonymous meeting last night. All the seats were taken.

Some metal turners have adapted their tail stocks so that a lever action is used when drilling If I can find one I will post a picture. Also search for

Not what I was looking for but an idea that could be made look at page 12 at the bottom

Or something like this but then you need some machining experience go to 23:30 in the video

There is always this, I would love it.

    Vicmarc Deep Hole Drilling Tailstock

I have thought about these but you are limited to a 1" travel.

Yes but if you had a Hercus lathe up and running you could make most of the parts in the second one Mark
