The CA activators that you should avoid using are the foam safe variety, it makes no odds of the branding, the foam safe has an additive that stops the stuff attacking foam but makes the finished and hardened glue cloudy.
I have a can of accelerator I bought when I first started to turn pens, used it the other day still works. 20+ years in a hot tin shed didn't affect it.
