its cooled off enough for me to get some shed time...found some of this (no idea what it is). thought it looked ok so had a go to see what it would look like polished up...seems to be red one side and blonde the other...i quite like it so will make up a slimline and see what happens...i think the ends chipped out cos i hadnt glued the tube in (didnt want to waste them if it turned out crap)
hope you all coping ok in this heat

My workshop is an old shipping container..... Sweat box!!
Doing other things at the moment, well until it cools a bit:praying::praying:

Having some time out like you to hot I hope it cools down tomorrow as I have some rice bowls half done need to finish them soon

My workshop stays fairly cool so I’m lucky. Glue your tubes in, if you make a balls up just turn the blank down to the tube & sand the tube with a course grit to remove any glue. When you remove the tube from your lathe rub around įthe ends of the tube with a file to remove any burrs. There’s no need to waste the tube, just reuse it.

We are having a third spell of La Nina so much rain and next month spring when I hope to be able to complain in time from the heat,been a miserable winter here.
