Hi Neil,
How did you put the colour into those sycamore Zetas.

You just dilute spirit stain with cellulose thinners and rub it on with paper towel. If the colour doesn't take, you just add a little more stain to the thinners until it does..
Applying it this way stops the colour completely masking the grain. In this case the Sycamore already had a pinkish hue, so I applied diluted red stain to further colour it up.
It works well on light coloured woods and can help "pop" the grain.
