A trial run of a cross cut Olive blank. There were a couple of splits in this blank, one turned away but is evident where it was by the black line running around the pen. The other was right on the finial end, and a small fill was required as a tiny piece broke away.
Many apologies Tony.
As it is I did cut a load of blanks, put them on my facebook page and sold out of the heavily burred stuff before I could put them on here.
I intend to cut some more very soon, and will put some by for you. One glitch I do have at the moment is the wildlife!
A Blackbird has taken up residence in my drying shed!
It's built, and laid in its nest on the shelves that contain the Olive that is ready to cut and condition. I'm hoping to get in there and do some Sycamore when it gets hungry!
No problem Neil just give me a PM when you've got some cut up, could do with 20 blanks.
Got a soft spot for birds so that's the best reason you could have found, don't be moving the blackbird for me.
Always a good day for Olive harder to get crossgrain in this timber I so often only get few of them following the grain during cutting. Love your timber.
