Paddy, I like what you are trying to do here, though I find the barrels are too heavy for the kit.
if you look at the examples of the Headwind on Beaufort Ink's web page you can see that the kit better suits a straight body.
Hope you don't mind me saying, just trying to be helpful.

Thanks for the critiques, I really appreciate it and know I'm still learning.
The first pen was for my wife so was a little slimmer, but as not much as the first ever headwind I did that was straight barrelled (see below)
The second was for me and I like 'fat' barrelled pens, I have big hands so they feel comfy....but....
at some point I'd like to be able to sell pens (still unsure how to go about starting/doing this - so any tips welcome) and it seems that my preference is more extreme than marmite!
As you guys are far more skilled and a lot of you sell your work do you think I need to 'conform' more or would they sell.
I really appreciate every comment as always, and I am listening honestly!

The last pen that you posted is more like the thing. Though, if you still want critiques, I would have used a chrome kit. (That's just me )
I have found that the ladies like slim pens ( not slimlines ) but either Streamlines or single barrel pens.
My biggest seller has been the Etesia and mostly segmented.
The guys like segmented Etesias and pens with caps, eg the Leveche, not segmented, but usually heavily grained or burrs.
Here, Bog Oak sells well.

Hi Padster, I sell in a retailer, but she only wants gold kits and wooden barrels and has an upper price point, but it dosent stop you having two...or three, l like making pens with once fired bullet cases, which are not to everyone's taste but I can sell loads through a local gun shop.... So in answer to your question, yes I feel you do have to conform a little, but there will always be an outlet if you try
