One made for a 25th Wedding anniversary/husbands 60th birthday, wood came from the husbands parents house. Both Parents no longer with us either so mean so much more to both of them.

Not sure what the wood is, any thoughts? My idea was that it is a breed of Acacia, was part of a fireplace that was put in by his parents when they moved in there in the 1970's.

Thanks guys..

Could well be Meranti, threw me as I have a stash of Meranti here but mine is much much darker and the grain is different, I guess this could well be light red Meranti.

Could be worse and called it Mahogany :winking:

I have 4 meranti blanks and a small bit to cut into blanks, mine is very red and a lot redder than yours. I was going to call mine "Red Wood" :rolling:

How do you know yours is redder than mine :whistling:..:funny: you can call yours whatever you like.

I could call this “pink wood” I guess.
