    Burr Elm bowl

    Did a quick turning job on a barter basis and got paid in wood. He brought a piece when he collected his job and we're going to his workshop on Friday to collect some more. 10" x 5" finished in Chestnut Hard Wax Oil.

    FRom the Northwest of Continental Europe. Faberge made an Egg from timber such as this for the Tsar of Russia in 1917. Found in Downy,or Silver Birch. My next door neighbor many years ago used to collect and partake of the sap of his Silver Birch trees,had a Sauna at the rear of his garage...

    Looking for wood from Lake District

    I have had a request to make a pen from wood which originates from the Lake District (Keswick if possible). Does anyone have a piece of timber from the Lake District which I could purchase from them? Or perhaps someone in the area could collect a piece and post it? Just thought I'd ask you...
