    A pen and a blank

The pen is S. American Bloodwood segmented, separated from dyed Tassie Oak ends with rings cut from an old Persil container. The blank is Pheasant Wood segmented with Box ends. Do you think that the dividers in the blank would be a better in a different colour than green? The green is a lot...

The 1mm thick lab opal is situated between the ebony at the ends.

    Had a blow out

Just finishing, with one last turn and Bang. Hadnt happened for years..... so I'm putting it down to a crack and not me! I had to turn the cap off and lucky enough I had just enough Desert Ironwood to do the cap with cap ends of Acacia. Majestic Jnr. kit.

    Knurl GT

Just a variation on a theme. I used Dibond sheeting at the ends of the segmented section.

    Drill press

Is a drill press with a 70mm depth adequate for pen turning (Drilling holes in the blanks that is) without having to go in at both ends? :thinks:

    Palm Timber Issues

I've been absent, but still poking in the shop at times. These are my current struggles with using Palm as end caps. Previously they turned fine, recently have given me fits. I did get the five I needed done, then switched the Palm for the middle section and had an easier time. With the ends...

    Some small bits of timber

A few triangles, some diamonds, a square, and several polygons. It was a "can I do it" exercise. I need to pay more attention to the combination of colors. Not totally happy with the pairings on the ends and the middle strips. (picky, picky, picky).

    Delta in Grape Escape

I had another go at the Delta, and this time I found away to bring together the two halves without the unsatisfactory contact from before. I flared the ends either side of the centre band. The blank was quite funky, so I think it works ok..... Adie
