Done a little bit of jiggling about this morning. Made a small jig for the drill press. This jig will keep the blank square and stable whilst drilling. I hope to put it through it's paces over the weekend. Feel free to copy it :ciggrin::ciggrin:

Stupid mistake made today. :vangry: I was cutting the nub off of a bowl today, well not really a bowl it was about 3" diameter and 1/2" deep made from sepia (I think) anyway I cut into the bowl so it now has a hole in the middle of it about 1/2 inch wide. It honestly took me hours to sand the...

    Brian's Lathe Build

Dear All, The first memory I have of my father is 65 years ago and I was 5 years old when I helped him make his shed. He bought an old watchman's cabin from the iron works where he worked, the story goes that he paid £0-3s-6d for it, and it was very old then. This story occurred long before...

Hi guys, just wanted to share with you all my latest projest, it a fountain pen that has 2000 pieces of blue dyed poplar and cherry veneer in. This was a real challenge to glue up and also try and drill perfectly in the middle because trying to hold a 5 sided object in a 4 jaw chuck doesn't...

    It feels good

Now the rebuild is completed and all that is left to do is sort out the old shed wood to what can be reused and what is to be skipped. Anyway, I had a good day today and managed to get and do some turning only if it was the outside of a bowl. Tomorrow I hope to finish it as had to stop to allow...
