    VERY Newbie

Morning folks Here are the first two wooden pens and my first acrylic that I have done. I have only been at this a few short weeks as stress relief from a ridiculously busy job in law. I am here to learn and listen. Based in Swansea David

    Burr Elm bowl

Did a quick turning job on a barter basis and got paid in wood. He brought a piece when he collected his job and we're going to his workshop on Friday to collect some more. 10" x 5" finished in Chestnut Hard Wax Oil.

    Can anyone help identify this?

I recently moved, and acquired this beast into the bargain. As you can see, it's bristling with all the latest health and safety attachments. I can't seem to find out anything about it though, and the manufacturer's plate that would have been riveted to the side is missing, which isn't helpful...

    Vivarium

One of the family needed a vivarium so knocked this up the outside and cuts are not covered at their request as the outside will be finished in a different colour. Just one more small job to do and then it is back to me time and projects

    Maple burl

Hi All, This was going to be for a Rollester pen kit but I decided not to fit the parts. The wood was pretty punky and I didn't do a great job of filling. I wanted to see how this lovely Maple looked with a finish, so I completed the process. Maple burl pen blank - YouTube

    Experimental Paint job

Another experiment that went wrong but the wife liked it so I completed it. As you can see the paint shrank back leaving what appears to be cracks. Somehow the more I look at it the more I like it. It is 10 1/2" X 2" and I believe it is lime. Do you really like the paint job be honest guys

    Two good days....

Well maybe not so good. Yesterday a piece of wood decided to fly out of the chuck where does it go yes you got it straight for the face the good news is that I wear a full face respirator, made me jump and the cause of this I had a catch without the tailstock in place. Then today turning away...

    Job Interview in the UK

Two blokes living in the Australian outback saw a couple of jobs advertised by the Queen of England. She was looking for footmen, to walk beside her carriage. They applied and were very happy to be flown to London for an interview with Her Majesty. She says to them: Because my footmen must wear...

    How was your Christmas?

So... how was your Christmas? We had a packed house with all the family together for the first time in ages. Great to have the youngest here particularly at Christmas. The last of them went home yesterday, and a good job our recycling bins were emptied yesterday too.

    King of Rings

Artisan Executive fountain pen with a wood I cant remember and I think Mahogany. Cant remember the wood as I made theses blanks up a long while ago for a commissioned job and also the pen swap. This one hasn't come out that good as the edges are not as sharp.:sob:
