I have shown my grandchildren how to turn pens and never thought this would happen. My Cocker Spaniel came to me and asked if I would teach her to turn a pen and said I am ready, got my eye safety glasses on, lets go. How could I refuse Glen:winking:

    Deccy

My wife saw a woodturned Christmas decoration on the web and fell in love with the concept. My job is to turn them and hers is to decorate...

Some new castings + one not so new

I have been trying for months to get the hang of watch parts pens and carbon fibre pens and seem to have sussed it at last. The Cigar has a faulty mechanism - it seems to work ok when I leave out the spring so that there is no pressure on it, but with the spring it refuses to turn. New mech for...

    Desk pen trumpet query.

Hi youngins I've came across a wee bitty problem. Months ago I bought a pen trumpet and have now started to turn the base and have prepared the blank ready to turn. Has anyone turned perspective rod? I would like to mock up a kitless in coloured translucent perspex (which I believe is basically acrylic) so I can clearly see how much wall thickness and space I have internally. Will this turn / thread well?
