    Watch the birdy

    Not all turning is arty or serious woodturning sometimes it is making something just for the fun of it. This bird cocktail stick holder is made from Ash ad American Black Walnut. Finished with cellulose sander sealer and Melamine lacquer, it stands 4 1/2" tall

    Fruits of my labour

    The wife said it would be a good idea for me to make some fruit so I did. Made from Yew, Walnut, London Plain and Apple. The finish was kept simple with sander sealer and buffed with carnauba wax.

    Never a good time

    Just when I am getting into cutting my Walnut and Yew blanks into rounds the bandsaw breaks now I need to wait for a replacement. And I still have 11+ Yew blanks to cut as well as a good quantity of the Walnut most of them will be around the 9" to 12" once I get back and cut them.

    Straight out of the workshop, punky in places but have managed to harden them up with a good dose of sander sealer(see last photo). Made from Walnut it has so much going on in the grain even some light feathering Finished with sander sealer and then buffed on a three wheel system
