    New work

Well, folks, I have managed to get into the workshop to concentrate on some work and this is what I have been up to I will follow up with things as it progresses or should that be as they progress. No guesses or prizes for what they are this is still a commission for someone, I may even get some...

    Number 11

So the silver arrived, and boy do I have a lot to learn in that area. This is my first attempt at a clip and I think the design is going to need some serious work, if only to hide the soldering! This one is in Kirinite Sky Blue Ice, Bock #6 bi-colour, M12 / M16 threads. Ed.

    Taylors Mirfield pencil inserts.

On there web site they claim that there pencil inserts will fit any of there ball pen kits. I bougt lot,s of them for projects. I can not get them to fit or work in any of there ball pens. What am I doing wrong? A waste of money. From the wbsite. Pencil Mechanism | Work with all TM ballpoint...

    Root Beer Kitless

This one is a little simpler than the last one I shared, much less work with less furniture, (i.e. no clips or rings). I must say the Kirinite blanks really are lovely to work with and, provided you sand properly, they polish up to a fabulous shine. This is Root Beer with Black Pearl accents...

I got very bored by the end!!

Both literally and figuratively, I got very bored making the same thing over and over again. 51 short sections and 51 long sections plus 7 sets that broke on the tubes for a variety of reasons, now I know why I hate production work. The contract was for 50 Tempests in Chrome with mixed woods...

    Disabled turners

I was wondering if there is anyone (apart from myself) disable pen turners on this site. I have been disabled for about 6 years now, but it does not stop me from trying anything, at the moment I do volunteer work 3 days a week doing wood work. Most of the machines I can't use, but that still...

    First attempts.

Hello all. New to this forum and pretty much to turning in general. Hopefully I've managed to attach some pictures of pens we've made recently. I say "we" as most were made with varying amounts of involvement from a number of young lads I work with on the family farm. All of them have struggled...

    Hello.

Hello all. I only started woodturning fairly recently and have started making some pens. Finding them good for building confidence and consistency as they are achievable in fairly short windows of time. I do a lot of youth / young adult care and support work based on the family farm. I am...

    Poorly turned on purpose!

Would you do it? These 3 pieces form one finished piece and are placed as they will be connected as per the commission. I sort of like the idea, even though the brief was to provide what I would consider sub standard work! Any guesses to what this is?
