Gold-plated Mistral in Conway Stewart "Dartmoor"

I met an ex head-teacher who wanted a pen "like she had when she was at school". She has a special birthday this month and commissioned this as a treat to herself. Supplied with italic nibs because she wants to write nicely again! Presented in a gorgeous Olive box from silver

    Twist pens closing up

Anyone know why the twist pens close as you write with the,. I know they lock out as you twist to open the pen and slightly drop back to lock, but as "i" write they gradually close. I am a leftie.

    Yet another first dip-pen!

In Beech, tried to keep it simple and it turned out something less than delicate! Nice to write with though - being a bit thicker makes it easier for me to grip  Learned a few things along the way, hoping the next one will be a bit better looking
