Hi all just finished my first Etesia.The timber is Yew,finish Melamine.I rather like it.C&C's welcome.

Two Taylors Mirfield Hera pens, one in Olive and one in Yew.

6" x 3" finished in Hard Wax Oil.

A little Yew pot 3 3/4" x 2" with Brass inlay which is nice and shiny in real life. Finished in Hard Wax Oil.

I’ve been playing with resin and offcuts of logs recently. This is what I’m told is a lump of Yew and Vista Lake resin.

I was bag drying this Yew but kept tripping over it so turned it green yesterday. 8 1/2" x 4" finished in Chestnut food safe oil.

A simple pattern. The Yew is stunning as always. Great wood to cut or turn. As I got nearer the 6mm thickness the piece of wood split into a few parts as it was pretty gnarly. Scrollsaw Yew Duck. - YouTube

Its been nearly 12 months since I turned anything in the shed but i have managed to do something over the last week. This dip pen set is all done in yew

Where is the best place to look for info on drying wood or do ny of the forum users have some good info, having seen some pictures of peoples sheds I am guessing this is something that at least some of the members do. Just picked up some bits of yew from my sister inlaw it is mainly branch wood...

Most of the pens I make are straight rather than a curved shape, most in fact have been streamline so not made a wide range of different pen styles either. My Daughter inlaw asked me if I could make a pen set for a friend of hers that is getting married next year, she picked a Celtic Pen from...

First time I have turned Yew. My neighbor removed a very old Yew and I got the trunk pieces. Cut one section into 65 pen blanks. I have always been impressed with the Yew you all make.

This Yew bowl was turned last week and then given three coats of Danish Oil and then left to dry today I finished it off by giving it a Buff. It measures 7 1/2" X 3"

Just when I am getting into cutting my Walnut and Yew blanks into rounds the bandsaw breaks now I need to wait for a replacement. And I still have 11+ Yew blanks to cut as well as a good quantity of the Walnut most of them will be around the 9" to 12" once I get back and cut them.

Every so often I make a pen that I want to keep, but just can't justify having another one, this is one of those.

Yew bowl turned today, decided to leave this one chunky. Finished with sander sealer and carnauba wax buffed on the Chestnut buffing system. Measures 10 1/2" X 3"
