20” Ash platter

Had a fantastic day turning this 20” platter finished with sanding sealer and several coats of spray lacquer

Lol I did but a few weeks ago I was offered my old Nova lathe back and my son went and picked it up for me the rest is history lol

It’s when it’s out of balance and the whole thing walks towards you that you worry .

yes sat a large mate on the lathe bed near power socket with instructions to watch and if the cable to plug starts to get a bit taught to hit the off switch but stay sat on the bed to reduce the walking !

Used a centre saver to core out a decent size blank so got 2 bowls , happy memories
