Hi all,
I have been asked about pens from smaller bullet cases, so here you go, these are. 223 or 5.5620160620_174637.jpg
I use a replacement real bullet and a slim line kit, paired with camo acrylic turned to look like a bullet case.

No soldering, I use Gorilla PU glue to fix most things and No finish on nickel cases.... On brass cases I polish and just wipe with microcrystalline wax, I want them to tarnish but with hand ware, so they are tactile. You can polish, degrease and laquer but it tends to chip or not stick very well:thumbs::thumbs:

With these cases, I have a reloading press and correct dies, so I melt the lead out the bullet points and then drill a hole for the pen nib. Fix this back into the case with the press (it resizes the case neck and then crimps the bullet in) .
For the twist mech I just drill the back of the case 1/4" hole the transmission then is a snug push fit (no tube).
This method does mean normal refills don't fit, you can trim std ones to suit or extend mini refills with spare tube, the later allows the customer to replace easier.:thumbs:

Good job well done. I must have a go at making some bullet pens. I have loads of cases in different calibers.

When I encounter the problem of the refill being too long I shorten the spigot on the clip cap by pushing it through a hole drilled in a piece of 4mm ply & sanding the spigot down on the disc sander. Always use a piece of wood to keep the cap in place so you don’t burn your fingers. Run a small file around the bottom of the spigot to remove the burr. The cap still fits snugly but if in drought put a spot of ca inside the tube end & press the cap in. This usually gives enough room for a standard refill
