A great looking hollow form finish looks top notch, the only thing that distracts is the bottom of the finial.

Love the egg shape Terry, the pics took minutes to download especially the second one. The raised lid looks as if it held up by levitation.

The top of the vessel and bottom left this way give strength, the finial has an oriental look making it very individual and special.

Love the colouring and design on the outside. Most expensive treatment of Emu eggs pale with your creation.

Peter.

Just out of interest how did you keep the lines between the dark area and wood so clean

I bought some masking tape from Hobbycraft Derek. The tape comes in varying widths starting at 1/8th in and the one I bought was 3/8ths. It makes it so much easier to apply than bog standard masking tape.

I know what you mean I have the 1" wide and it is a bugger getting it to go around two curves at the same time. Will have to look out for the narrow stuff at Hobbycraft
