I have the same Bosch drill, which I use in conjunction with a pen blank drilling vice I bought from Turners Retreat. The quick release clamp on the bench drill holds the vice securely and the Bosch does an excellent job. Although the laser cross hairs are very useful, I still drill a small starter hole a couple of mm deep because without it the drill can slide off centre in some woods, despite the fact that I always use bullet drills.

Winemaker: Quill travel means the maximum drilling stroke, which, as bigbob stated, is 90 mm.
