Well, that's certainly an interesting piece and I mean that in a good way.... Did you turn oversize, bore the holes, then reduce the diameter, I'm intrigued :think:

I turned the bottom half round, and left the top square. I marked out my dimensions on the square top end, then drilled at 60 degree increments on my small pillar drill. Popped back on the lathe, and used a hole saw to cut out the indentations equally. I used a rasp and file to clear up the indentations and then sanded to finish on the lathe before applying a wax oil mix šŸ˜…. It's not perfect but I'm quite happy. I've only been turning a few months, so still got loads to learn.
