English Oak, finished with melamine lacquer. Box is English 1/4 sawn Oak

Eamonn, I like that grain on the box and the way that you have it running continuously around the box.
Box and contents are up to your usual high standard.
Excellent.

Hi mate, a beautiful pen but the box is something else. The rays in that 1/4 sawn Oak is superb. You don’t see a lot of 1/4 sawn timber now as it is costly to produce, which is a Shane as it brings out the hidden beauty of the oak.:thumbs:

The 1/4 sawn is something of a speciality nowadays, this Oak I managed to buy from a British sawmill, Not cheap at all either.

Total cost for enough to make 4 boxes was just shy of £100. Price increase from last year of over 23%.:rolling: But that’s reflected in a lot of building materials lately.
