Hi all some of you may have seen these pens I make this particular one is a Rhodium Statesman fountain pen the blanks are what I made for the pen.
Each blank was made separately starting with painting (air-brushing) the brass tube with a water base acrylic paint that was heated up to dry and harden the paint 3 coats in total of black paint.
A resin mandrel was made to hold the blank while hand tying the real Grizzly feathers one by one on to blank with the tying thread not holding the feathers on the blank but off to the ends (no glue and no thread on the blank itself only at each end to hold them).
30 feathers where used in total with a small amount of tinsel at one end (cap end) and gold tinsel on the lower blank.
A wooden mould was made to hold the blanks and coated with clear window mastic.
The clear PR resin was pressurized to remove are bubbles and the slowly poured into the moulds.
It took around 4 hours to make it the final pen I recently sold this pen for £170.00.
Comments and criticisms welcomed guys
