No not at all. John was pretty much the first to cast feathers blanks by quite a bit. There isn't any rivalry between them either. They have even helped each other on occasion too.
I like turning both acrylic & polyester blanks. I dry sand to 400 grit in the usual way then use 0000 wire wool. I then polish with Farecla 300 & 500 polish to a fine finish.
