You'll either see a symphony of beautiful shavings coming off the tool, or be made nauseous by the roller coaster ride!
Won't know myself until I find time to try it!:funny:

You can always blame the camera for unbalancing the gouge Neil - or get a proper turner to do the demo :ciggrin:
Is that the cam off you bike helmet? :whistling:

I've never owned a bike helmet. If I fell on my head there would be the least damage!:funny:

I'm hopefully going to make a few videos that cover the points of the courses I'm teaching. That way a student can have a quick recap of a particular technique.
The one thing I have found with other turning videos is that you can never get a good view of tool presentation. The idea is to edit in gouge footage as well as having the main camera footage. Just got to find the time to see if I can make it all work now.:rolling:

It's a good idea Neil but I hope the dust & shavings don't fog the lense to stop the picture clarity. A bit of stretched cling film might help protect the lense as you don't want it scratched when cleaning it.

A clear auxilliary filter in front of the lens I note that on Dirty Jobs the TV guy has glass ion front of their lenses to protect them.

I keep coming back to this post to see if you have started using it. My reading from Richard Raffans books and Videos forever could be a good guide for what to do and emphasise.

Go well ....Neil.

Peter.

The bracket I made is a little short and you can't see the cut point if I'm holding overhand. The new lights are upsetting the camera a bit as well. I put a little bit on Facebook but have no idea how to post a video on here. Took me ages to save the footage as something usable anyway!:goesred:

For videos I use U Tube as that can be uploaded to most sites.

It's Derek's fault!
I now have a you tube channel.
Gouge cam - YouTube

This is the only thing on there at the moment but if anyone wants to subscribe to it, I'll be putting more wood based shenanigans on there when I get chance.
