Looking at it Ian I can understand why you tried it to break up the two light coloured bits of wood try a narrower black band then I think it will work
I agree with woody, but I think its possibly down to seeing all the 'black bottomed' ones from you that this looks different. It's really nice piece of wood and finished really well so don't knock yourself..
I thought as soon as I looked at it that the black belt should come off and put a chrome one on.
But as it has been mentioned already I''ll have to find something else to criticize.

I wouldn't say your messing things up Ian your on a road of experimentation and discovery and one day you will get there and produce a masterpiece behind every masterpiece there is a mountain of road signs pointing the way to success and you call them messed up no pointers pointing the way forward
